ALTAVE is an aerospace industry that develops lighter-than-air vehicles, focused on the creation of innovative products and services, involving multiple applications. We provide connectivity and videomonitoring for diverse sectors, such as Telecommunications, Defense & Security, Agribusiness, Environmental Monitoring, Mining and Construction.
Founded in March 2011 by two newly graduated engineers from the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), ALTAVE was born in a business incubator located within the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DCTA, in Portuguese) and today also has an office in the Technological Park of São José dos Campos.
In 2016, ALTAVE gained international notoriety due to its success in the implementation of four wide area persistent surveillance balloons in the RIO 2016 Olympic Games, ensuring the safety of all Olympic venues in Rio de Janeiro. Likewise, ALTAVE’s solutions were present in major events such as the Carnival of Rio de Janeiro and Recife, the FIFA Confederations and Libertadores Cup, among others. ALTAVE has also performed in diverse operations in frontier regions and critical infrastructures along with the Brazilian Army and the Military Police of various Brazilian states. In 2017, ALTAVE launched an AgTech flexible tower solution to enable rural internet and surveillance, promoting productivity gain and risk mitigation in Agribusiness.
In Brazil, ALTAVE is recognized as the only developer and manufacturer of aerostat based solutions for surveillance and telecommunications, holding an exclusivity certificate from ABIMDE (Brazil’s Defense and Security Industry Association).
